The Cascades Project is exciting, progressive, and one of the most innovative concepts to come to Tallahassee. Expected to bring in over 700 permanent jobs, according to an economic analysis commissioned by the Office of Economic Vitality and Dr. Julie Harrington, director of the FSU Center for Economic Forecasting and Analysis. Job creation, paired with conference space in the new AC Marriott Hotel, new retail space, a new restaurant, and rooftop bar will bring a healthy boost to our local economy.
Construction for the project began in January of 2019, with Phase One to be completed by the end of 2020. Phase One includes the skeleton of the new AC Marriott Hotel and adjacent apartment building, which is already leasing and expected to gain occupancy in February 2021. A two-bed, two-bath apartment is set to lease for approximately $1,500 a month, which will include basic cable and access to the community pool and fitness center. You’ll also be set up to explore the 24-acre cascades park, visit the new rooftop bar, shop in unparalleled retail space, and hone in on some of the best views in Tallahassee. With close proximity to FSU, TCC, FAMU, and downtown – you’ll be in the heart of all Tallahassee has to offer.
Phase Two includes construction of new apartments, condos, and townhomes. The AC Marriott will feature a rooftop bar, managed by For The Table Hospitality (ring a bell? They manage local legends like Madison Social, Happy Motoring, Township, Centrale, etc.) The hotel and rooftop bar are expected to open in 2021.
The pandemic slowed the progression of the project slightly, but it is still on track to be completed by the end of 2021.
